Ninth-ranked Tokyo Cinq R. (4-14) was very close to win a game against third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (13-3) in Mikawa on Sunday. Hamamatsu Phoenix managed to secure only two-point victory 65-63. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 29-15 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. American swingman Jemal Farmer (195-89, college: Arkansas, agency: Blacktop Management) replied with 23 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import center Will Foster (226-88, college: Gonzaga) added 11 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Tokyo Cinq R.Hamamatsu Phoenix have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 13-3 record having six points less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Tokyo Cinq R. lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Fukuoka Rizing (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Tokyo Cinq R. will play against Osaka Evessa and hope to win that game.
