Important game to mention about took place in Jinjiang. Fourteenth ranked Shanghai Sharks (5-8) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 19th ranked Fujian (2-11) 86-85 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-85. Shanghai Sharks outrebounded Fujian 53-42 including 16 on the offensive glass. American power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 23 rebounds for the winners. Forward ChengLin Fan (202-91) chipped in 23 points. American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) produced 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and international Zhelin Wang (215-94) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. Fujian lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 11 games lost. Shanghai Sharks will face higher ranked DongGuan Leopards (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fujian will play against Foshan (#11) and hope to win that game.
