Omegna (#7) forced the game against Ravenna (#3) into an overtime, but lost by five points 72-77 on Sunday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Omegna won third quarter 17-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Omegna used huge pressure winning it 16-10 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 8-13. They outrebounded Omegna 48-34 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Ravenna players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Demitrius Conger (198-90, college: St.Bonaventure) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Devon Saddler (183-91, college: Delaware) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Ravenna (7-3) moved-up to second place, which they share with Treviglio. Omegna at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Ravenna will face Treviglio (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Omegna will play against Tortona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
