Regular Season Round 10: Tortona - Ferrara 90-70

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (5-5) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked Tortona (5-5) 90-70 on Sunday. Tortona dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Naturhouse Ferrara's 30. They outrebounded Naturhouse Ferrara 42-27 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Jeffrey Crockett (201-91, college: Texas Tech) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Ramon Galloway (190-91, college: La Salle) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Tortona's coach Demis Cavina used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Troy Huff (196-92, college: N.Dakota) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Tortona and five Naturhouse Ferrara players scored in double figures. Tortona have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Naturhouse Ferrara. Tortona will face Omegna (#6) on the road in the next round.
