Regular Season Round 13: Guangsha L. - Xinjiang FT 111-108

The most exciting game of round 13 in the CBA took place in Hangzhou. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 4th placed Xinjiang Flying Tige (9-4) to third ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (11-2) 111-108 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. The hosts trailed by 16 points after three quarters before their 31-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) fired 37 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds for the winners. Taiwanese guard Zhijie Lin (192-82) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws). American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) produced a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 8 assists and American point guard Stefan Bonneau (177-87, college: LIU Post) added 20 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and five Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Beijing Ducks. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions is looking forward to face league's leader Liaoning Hunters in Yingkou in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play at home against Beijing Ducks (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
