Regular Season Round 11: Huima - ViVe 85-63
Date: November 30, 2014
There was no surprise in Aanekoski where 7th ranked ViVe (3-8) was crushed by fourth ranked Aanekosken (7-4) 85-63 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Aanekosken. ViVe managed to win fourth quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Aanekosken forced 25 ViVe turnovers. The game was dominated by American players. It was a great evening for power forward Chandra Harris (186-89, college: Georgia St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) helped adding 12 points and 14 rebounds. Four Aanekosken players scored in double figures. Forward Breanna Salley (180-87, college: Seattle) responded with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and center India Hairston (190-91, college: E.Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Aanekosken. They maintain fourth place with 7-4 record. ViVe lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Aanekosken will meet at home league's leader Catz Lappeenranta in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ViVe will play against Tapiolan Honka (#5) and hope to secure a win.
