Regular Season Round 10: Kaspiy Aktau - Almat.Legion 49-63

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kaspiy Aktau (4-8) against fourth ranked Almat.Legion (3-7) on Monday night. Host Kaspiy Aktau was defeated by Almat.Legion in Aktau 63-49. It looked good early as Kaspiy Aktau took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Almat.Legion had a 18-13 second period charge getting the lead and Kaspiy Aktau was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 49-63. Uzbekistani center Dmitry Sviridov (212-85) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international power forward Mikhail Evstigneev (202-84) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Kyrgyzstani guard Zhanysh Erns Uulu (190-93) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds and the former international center Sergei Kazantcev (210-84) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Almat.Legion maintains fourth position with 3-7 record. Kaspiy Aktau lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third place with eight games lost. Almat.Legion will play against league's second-placed BK Kapshagay at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Kaspiy Aktau will have a break next round.
