The game between Top Four teams took place in Ashdod. Leader host Maccabi Ashdod (7-0) defeated their biggest opponent Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (5-2) 88-79. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-17. But Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion won second period 24-23. At the losing side American guard Alexis Hornbuckle (180-85, college: Tennessee) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import forward Karisma Penn (188-91, college: Illinois) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. Four Maccabi Ashdod and five Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion players scored in double figures. Maccabi Ashdod have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Maccabi R.Hen and Elitzur Ramla. Maccabi Ashdod are looking forward to face Bnot Hertzeliya (#5) on the road in the next round. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against the league's second-placed Elitzur Ramla and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
