Regular Season Round 8: FSU - KFI 101-86

Date: December 1, 2014
Very expected game in Selfoss where 7th ranked KFI (2-7) was defeated by third ranked FSU (6-1) 101-86. The game was mostly controlled by FSU. KFI was better in third quarter 26-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. FSU forced 20 KFI turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by KFI's players. The winners were led by American forward Collin Pryor (198, college: Northern St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 18 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) supported him with 24 points. Four FSU players scored in double figures. FSU's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds by center Birgir Petursson (205-86) did not help to save the game for KFI. Serbian swingman Nebojsa Knezevic (196-87) added 27 points and 6 steals for the guests. FSU have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. KFI at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. FSU will play against Valur (#4) in Reykjavik in the next round. KFI will play on the road against the league's leader Hottur in Egilsstadir and hopes to get back on the winning track.
