Regular Season Round 14: Foshan LL - Fujian QB 124-107

Everything went according to plan when eleventh ranked Foshan (7-7) defeated at home 19th ranked Fujian (2-12) 124-107 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Foshan. Fujian was better in third quarter 29-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They shot the lights out from three sinking 19 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points and 7 rebounds. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) contributed with 32 points and 5 assists for the winners. American point guard John Lucas III (180-82, college: Oklahoma St.) replied with 32 points and 7 assists and international Zhelin Wang (215-94) added 24 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Fujian. Five Foshan and four Fujian players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Foshan maintains eleventh position with 7-7 record. Fujian lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the nineteenth place with 12 games lost. Foshan will face Shanghai Sharks (#12) on the road in the next round. Fujian will play against Sichuan BW (#17) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
