The game in Vitebsk was also quite interesting. Sixth ranked BGU Minsk (4-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Rubon II (2-5). BGU Minsk managed to secure a 7-point victory 63-56 on Tuesday. Rubon II was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. BGU Minsk dominated on the defensive end, holding Rubon II to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 28 Rubon II turnovers. Strangely Rubon II outrebounded BGU Minsk 53-39 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Andrei Tsyvinski (197-91) who scored 29 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Evgenij Kostyukevich (198-95) chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. BGU Minsk's coach Dmitri Novitzky used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Denis Vikentyev (201-98) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 20 rebounds and forward Egor Gil (195-96) added 16 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Rubon II players scored in double figures. BGU Minsk moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Borisfen. Rubon II at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Impuls BGUIR. BGU Minsk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rubon II will play against Prinemanye (#11) and hope to secure a win.
