Regular Season Round 12: Hamar - Haukar 41-70
Date: December 3, 2014
The game in Hamar supposed to be also quite interesting. Third ranked Haukar (7-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Hamar (2-9). Haukar smashed Hamar 70-41 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 70-41. Haukar dominated on the defensive end, holding Hamar to just 4 points in second quarter. They also forced 30 Hamar turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 23 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals and Sylvia Run Halfdanardottir (-98) who added 12 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Sydnei Moss (178-88, college: Co.Carolina) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and forward Thorunn Bjarnadottir (171-80) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar maintains third position with 7-3 record having four points less than leader Snaefell. Loser Hamar keeps the sixth place with nine games lost. Haukar will meet at home Breidablik (#7) in the next round. Hamar will play against KR in Reykjavik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
