The game in Taiyuan was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Jilin Tigers (8-6) played at the court of seventh ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (9-5). Shanxi Zhongyu managed to secure a 5-point victory 123-118 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Jilin Tigers. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 36-21 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Shanxi Zhongyu made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Jeremy Tyler (208-91, college: Louisville) notched a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) supported him with 31 points and 8 assists. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even a triple-double of 49 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 10 assists by American guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Jilin Tigers. Syrian guard Michel Madanly (194-81) added 25 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shanxi Zhongyu moved-up to sixth place. Loser Jilin Tigers dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Shandong FB and DongGuan L.. Shanxi Zhongyu will meet Qingdao Eagles (#7) on the road in the next round. Jilin Tigers will play against Xinjiang Flying Tige in Urumqi and hope to secure a win.
