Regular Season Round 14: Xinjiang FT - Beijing Ducks 109-108

The most exciting game of round 14 in the CBA took place in Urumqi. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Beijing Ducks (11-3) to fifth ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (10-4) 109-108 on Wednesday evening. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 33-26 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Xinjiang Flying Tige outrebounded Beijing Ducks 43-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. 26 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Filipino power forward Andray Blatche (211-86) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) replied with 46 points (!!!) (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) added 19 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Beijing Ducks. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige and five Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Xinjiang Flying Tige maintains fifth position with 10-4 record. Defending champion Beijing Ducks dropped to the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Guangdong ST and Guangsha L.. Xinjiang Flying Tige are looking forward to face Jilin Tigers (#8) in Changchun in the next round. Beijing Ducks will play at home against the league's leader Liaoning Hunters (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
