Regular Season Round 19: Huracanes - Jefes 74-79

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Huracanes (10-7) against seventh ranked Jefes (10-8) on Thursday night. Host Huracanes were defeated by Jefes in a tough game in Tampico 74-79. The guests were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 25-14 last quarter charge of Huracanes cut the lead to 79-74 at the end of the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) who led the winners and scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Ray Gallegos (188-90, college: Nebraska) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Jefes players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Arim Solares (202-83) came up with 20 points and international point guard Omar Quintero (182-81, college: S.Nazarene) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for Huracanes in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Jefes. Newly promoted Jefes maintains seventh place with 10-8 record. Huracanes lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. Jefes will play against Correcaminos (#9) in Ciudad Victoria in the next round. Huracanes will play at home against Fuerza Regia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
