Very important is a home loss of second ranked Hamar (6-2) against fourth ranked Valur (4-3) on Thursday night. Host Hamar was crushed by Valur in Hamar 110-91. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hamar. The game without a history. Valur led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hamar was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American forward Danero Thomas (193-86, college: Murray St.) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and guard Thorbergur Olafsson (180-92) supported him with 24 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Thorsteinn Gunnlaugsson (190-82) did not help to save the game for Hamar. Forward Orn Sigurdarson (202-89) added 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks for the hosts. Four Valur and five Hamar players scored in double figures. Valur maintains fourth position with 4-3 record. Hamar at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. Valur will play against league's second-placed FSU in Selfoss in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hamar will play at home against Breidablik and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
