Rather predictable result in Rishon Le-Zion where fourth ranked Maccabi Rishon (7-3) defeated 7th ranked Galil Gilboa (4-6) 80-72. Maccabi Rishon players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward Jackie Carmichael (206-90, college: Illinois St., agency: Priority Sports) notched 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and naturalized American Tony Younger (199-80, college: Spring Hill) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds by American Jeremiah Wilson (203-88, college: Tarleton St.) did not help to save the game for Galil Gilboa. His fellow American import Wayne Chism (206-87, college: Tennessee) added 15 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for lost side. Maccabi Rishon moved-up to third place. Galil Gilboa at the other side keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Bnei Hertzeliyya and Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi Rishon will play against league's second-placed Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Galil Gilboa will play at home against Ironi Nes-Ziona (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
