Regular Season Round 19: Panteras - Titanicos 72-85

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Aguascalientes where 10th ranked Panteras (7-10) were defeated by eleventh ranked Titanicos (7-11) 85-72 on Thursday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Titanicos's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-16 extending their advantage to 13 points. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Glenn Stokes (170-76, college: American) fired 15 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Maurice Riddick (188-79, college: Beth.-Cookman) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Puerto Rican forward Carlos Lopez-Sosa (208-90, college: UNLV, agency: Paris Global Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 16 rebounds and Puerto Rican point guard Ricardo Melendez (179-83) added 23 points respectively for lost side. Five Titanicos and four Panteras players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Titanicos. Newly promoted Titanicos maintains eleventh place with 7-11 record. Loser Panteras keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Titanicos will meet Barreteros (#13) in the next round. Panteras will play against Abejas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
