Very expected game in Guangzhou where 18th ranked Chongqing FD (3-12) was defeated by eighth ranked Qingdao Eagles (9-5) 128-114. Chongqing FD was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. They outrebounded Chongqing FD 40-27 including 17 on the offensive glass. Qingdao Eagles players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a good game for Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 22 rebounds and 6 assists. American Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) contributed with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) answered with 50 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Iranian Arsalan Kazemi (200-90, college: Oregon) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Chongqing FD. Four Qingdao Eagles and five Chongqing FD players scored in double figures. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Qingdao Eagles. They moved-up to seventh place. Newly promoted Chongqing FD dropped to the sixteenth position with 12 games lost. Qingdao Eagles' next round opponent will be higher ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (#6) in Taiyuan and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chongqing FD will play on the road against Fujian (#16) in Jinjiang and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
