Regular Season Round 15: Zhejiang CB - Jiangsu TX 117-106
Date: December 5, 2014
Very predictable result in Hangzhou where fifteenth ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (5-10) defeated bottom-ranked Jiangsu TX (2-13) 117-106. It looked good early as Jiangsu TX took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank had a 26-20 second period charge getting the lead and Jiangsu TX was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 106-117. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for point guard Errick McCollum (185-88, college: Goshen) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 50 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Center Chris Johnson (210-85, college: LSU) contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) added 31 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Jiangsu TX. Five Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank and four Jiangsu TX players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank maintains fifteenth place with 5-10 record. Jiangsu TX lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank's next round opponent will be higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (#14) in Nanjing and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jiangsu TX will play on the road against the league's second-placed Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
