Date: December 5, 2014
Very important is a road loss of Champville (0-1) against Sagesse (1-0) on Friday night. Visiting Champville was defeated by Sagesse in Beirut 103-93. It looked good early as Champville took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sagesse had a 24-12 second period charge getting the lead and Champville was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 93-103. Strangely Champville outrebounded Sagesse 43-29 including 19 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Desmond Penigar (201-81, college: Utah St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) contributed with 32 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Georgian power forward Nikoloz Tskitishvili (212-83, agency: Regeneracom Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and international forward Bassel Bawji (203-89, college: Tulsa) added 28 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Champville. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beirut to the arena Homenetm. B.
