Regular Season Round 9: BGEU-RCOR - BGU Minsk 78-68

We should mention about the upset which took place in Osipovichi, where higher ranked BGU Minsk (4-4) lost to tenth ranked BGEU-RCOR (2-7) in a road game 68-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BGU Minsk. BGU Minsk was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 48-33 second half run of BGEU-RCOR. They also forced 22 BGU Minsk turnovers. Strangely BGU Minsk outrebounded BGEU-RCOR 47-35 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Forward Dmitry Borisenok (201-97) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side and point guard Kanstantsin Kuptsevich (180-97) accounted for 16 points. Four BGEU-RCOR players scored in double figures. Forward Artem Kozlov (194-90) came up with 22 points and 9 rebounds and guard Andrei Tsyvinski (197-91) added 20 points respectively for BGU Minsk in the defeat. BGU Minsk's coach Dmitri Novitzky rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BGEU-RCOR moved-up to ninth place. Newly promoted BGU Minsk keeps the fifth position with four games lost. BGEU-RCOR's next round opponent will be higher ranked Borisfen (#6) in Mogilev and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
