Date: December 5, 2014
Top ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (15-3) recorded its third loss in Tokyo on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by third ranked Tochigi Brex (12-6) 77-57. It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Hitachi Sunrockers. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Tochigi Brex. Hitachi Sunrockers managed to win fourth quarter 20-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import guard Tommy Brenton (196-89, college: Stony Brook) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Joshua Heytvelt (210-86, college: Gonzaga) who recorded 7 points and 17 rebounds and international power forward Joji Takeuchi (207-85, agency: N.E.T.) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tochigi Brex moved-up to second place. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. Tochigi Brex are looking forward to face Tsukuba R. (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Toshiba Thunders (#4) in Kanagawa and are hoping to win this game.
