Regular Season Round 15: TianJin S. - Guangsha L. 88-109

There was no surprise in Tianjin where 13th ranked TianJin Steel (6-9) was outplayed by second ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (12-3) 109-88. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Steel's 44. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions forced 19 TianJin Steel turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a good game for Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory with 34 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Shelden Williams (206-83, college: Duke) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 23 rebounds and 5 blocks (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for TianJin Steel. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and four TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains second place with 12-3 record having five points less than leader Liaoning H. TianJin Steel at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Jiangsu TX (#20) at home which should be another easy win for them. TianJin Steel will play against Beijing Ducks (#4) and hope to win that game.
