Regular Season Round 10: Marin - Opentach Pla 87-79
Date: December 6, 2014
Rather predictable result when tenth ranked Marin (5-4) defeated at home bottom-ranked Opentach Pla (1-8) 87-79. It looked good early as Opentach Pla took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Marin had a 20-10 second period charge getting the lead and Opentach Pla was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-87. Marin forced 19 Opentach Pla turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alexandre Rapier (200-89, college: Stony Brook, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who helped to win the game recording 17 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). American-Nigerian forward Ike Azotam (201-91, college: Quinnipiac) contributed with 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Ridge McKeither (198-88, college: Angelo St.) replied with 26 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Alberto Ausina (203-81) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Opentach Pla. Four Opentach Pla players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Marin have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with CB Tarragona. Newly promoted Opentach Pla dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. Marin's next round opponent will be CB Tarragona 2017 (#7) on the road. Opentach Pla will play against Canarias (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
