Regular Season Round 15: Hokkaido L. - Toyota Alvark 62-76

Rather predictable result in Saporro where fourth ranked Toyota Alvark (11-7) beat 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (4-14) 76-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Toyota Alvark. Hokkaido L. was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toyota Alvark made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Toyota Alvark outrebounded Hokkaido L. 46-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Jeff Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Toyota Alvark's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Takehiko Orimo (190-70) added 11 points and 5 assists respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Toyota Alvark. They moved-up to third place. Hokkaido L. lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 14 games lost. Toyota Alvark will have a break next round. Hokkaido L. will play on the road against Chiba Jets (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
