Very expected game when 7th ranked Fukushima (6-13) was crushed on the road by second ranked Okinawa GK (15-2) 108-75. The game without a history. Okinawa GK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Coach Tsutomu Isa's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Terrance Shannon (203-90, college: VCU) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Fukushima. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Okinawa GK. They maintain second place with 15-2 record having five points less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Newly promoted Fukushima dropped to the eighth position with 13 games lost. Okinawa GK's next round opponent will be again Fukushima (#8) at home which should be theoretically another easy game.
