Important game to mention about took place in Tampico. Sixth ranked Huracanes (11-7) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 5th ranked Fuerza Regia (10-7) 91-88 on Saturday evening. Fuerza Regia was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 26-20 charge of Huracanes, which allowed them to win the game. Fuerza Regia was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Nigerian-American power forward Suleiman Braimoh (203-89, college: Rice) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds. American guard Dallas Logan (193-82, college: Northwood, agency: Tycoon Sports Inc.) contributed with 13 points for the winners. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) replied with 29 points and 6 rebounds and international center Lance Allred (211-81, college: Weber St.) added 14 points and 14 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Regia. Five Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Huracanes moved-up to fifth place. Fuerza Regia at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Huracanes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fuerza Regia will play at home against Barreteros (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
