Regular Season Round 10: Polpharma - AZS Koszalin 72-90

No shocking result in a game when second ranked AZS Koszalin (9-1) beat 10th ranked Polpharma (3-7) in Starogard 90-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS Koszalin. Polpharma was better in third quarter 23-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for the former international power forward Szymon Szewczyk (209-82) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots). American Devon Austin (202-87, college: Manhattan) contributed with 22 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American power forward Evan Ravenel (203-89, college: Ohio St.) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international swingman Grzegorz Kukielka (191-83, agency: Promotex) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Polpharma. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AZS Koszalin have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 9-1 record behind leader PGE Turow. Polpharma lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with seven games lost. AZS Koszalin will face league's leader PGE Turow in Zgorzelec in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Polpharma will play on the road against Asseco (#6) in Gdynia and hope to win that game.
