Regular Season Round 11: Sokol Lancut - Spojnia 72-58

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 4th placed Spojnia's (6-5) road loss to third ranked Sokol Lancut (9-2) 58-72 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sokol Lancut. Spojnia was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Sokol Lancut outrebounded Spojnia 45-34 including 30 on the defensive glass. Spojnia was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Szymon Rduch (196-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Tomasz Pisarczyk (202-85) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Sokol Lancut's coach Dariusz Kaszowski used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center Rafal Bigus (214-76, college: Villanova) answered with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international point guard Lukasz Zytko (185-81) added 11 points in the effort for Spojnia. Sokol Lancut have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Stal Ostrow. Spojnia lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with five games lost. Sokol Lancut will face GTK Gliwice (#12) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spojnia will play against SKK Siedlce (#14) and hope to win that game.
