Regular Season Round 12: Mickiewicz - AZS PCz 89-77

Very expected game when 7th ranked AZS PCz (5-6) lost to third ranked Mickiewicz (8-3) in Katowice 77-89 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Mickiewicz. AZS PCz was better in third quarter 22-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mickiewicz looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a good game for forward Tomasz Gembus (197-87) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Mateusz Migala (202-94) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Forward Wojciech Kotlewski (195-84) replied with 18 points and 9 rebounds and forward Marcin Bluma (201-89) added 14 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for AZS PCz. Four AZS PCz players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Mickiewicz have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with MCKiS Jaworz. Loser AZS PCz keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Mickiewicz will have a break next round. AZS PCz will play on the road against Gimbasket Wroclaw (#11) and hope to win that game.
