Regular Season Round 13: Groningen - Den Bosch 78-67

Date: December 6, 2014
Eredivisie round 13 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Den Bosch (9-2) against fifth ranked Groningen (7-4) 78-67 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Den Bosch. The game was mostly controlled by Groningen. Den Bosch managed to win fourth quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Groningen forced 20 Den Bosch turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Lance Jeter (190-88, college: Nebraska) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. His fellow American import guard DeJuan Wright (190-88, college: FIU, agency: Court Side) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Groningen players scored in double figures. Groningen's coach Ivica Skelin used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Reggie Johnson (208-89, college: Miami, FL) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international Kees Akerboom (200-83, agency: Court Side) added 20 points in the effort for Den Bosch. Groningen have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fifth place with 7-4 record. Den Bosch at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Leiden. Den Bosch will play next round against strong Den Helder trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Groningen will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
