Regular Season Round 19: Nova Ves - Handlova 75-81

Very expected game when 9th ranked Nova Ves (4-15) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Handlova (9-10) 81-75. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nova Ves won fourth quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian swingman Luka Drezga (196-87, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. Montenegrin guard Milos Djurisic (194-88) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Stan Brown (204-90, college: Lamar) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and swingman Peter Pipiska (197-84) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Nova Ves. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Handlova maintains fifth place with 9-10 record. Nova Ves lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 15 games lost. Handlova will play against league's second-placed Rieker KN in Komarno in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nova Ves will play on the road against Nitra (#10) in Nitra and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
