There was no surprise in Zacatecas where 13th ranked Barreteros (4-14) were defeated by eleventh ranked Titanicos (8-11) 85-79 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 29-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Isaiah Wilkerson (190-90, college: NJIT) who scored 21 points. The other American import forward Jumaine Jones (202-79, college: Georgia, agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Titanicos players scored in double figures. American-Puerto Rican forward Florentino Valencia (196-85, college: Toledo, agency: Paris Global Sports) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and American center Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) added 18 points and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the hosts. Barreteros' coach Jesus Alba let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Titanicos have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to tenth place. Barreteros lost fourth consecutive game. Barreteros at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Titanicos will face league's leader Halcones Rojos in Veracruz in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Barreteros will play on the road against Fuerza Regia (#7) in Monterrey and hope to win that game.
