Regular Season Round 11: Zaglebie - SKK Siedlce 85-69

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked SKK Siedlce (2-9) lost to thirteenth ranked Zaglebie (4-7) in Sosnowiec 69-85 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-69. Strangely SKK Siedlce outrebounded Zaglebie 43-28 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Zaglebie especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The former international Marcin Kosinski (186-85) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Guard Grzegorz Mordzak (182-77) contributed with 20 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Zaglebie players scored in double figures. Guard Rafal Sobilo (188-89) answered with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Daniel Wall (196-82, agency: Promotex) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for SKK Siedlce. SKK Siedlce's coach Wieslaw Gluszczak rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Zaglebie moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pogon Prudnik and GTK Gliwice. SKK Siedlce at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the bottom position with nine games lost. Zaglebie will face higher ranked GKS Tychy (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. SKK Siedlce will play against Spojnia (#6) and hope to win that game.
