Regular Season Round 9: Rubon II - Prinemanye 48-60

Prinemanye can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Vitebsk, where they defeated Rubon II (2-6) 60-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Prinemanye. Rubon II managed to win fourth quarter 13-4. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Rubon II to just 6 points in second quarter. Prinemanye held Rubon II to an opponent 22.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 38.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Prinemanye forced 23 Rubon II turnovers. Strangely Rubon II outrebounded Prinemanye 54-36 including a 28-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Pavel Suvorov (185-95) who scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Dmitriy Kuratnik (192-97) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Denis Vikentyev (201-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 19 rebounds and forward Egor Gil (195-96) added 17 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Prinemanye (1-7) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Tsmoki III. It was Rubon II's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Impuls BGUIR. Prinemanye is looking forward to face higher ranked Impuls BGUIR (#7) in Minsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rubon II will play on the road against Tsmoki II in Minsk and is hoping to win this game.
