Regular Season Round 10: Landes - Lyon 69-55

Everything went according to plan in Mont de Marsan where second ranked Basket Landes (8-2) beat 10th ranked Lyon (3-7) 69-55 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Basket Landes. Lyon managed to win second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Basket Landes dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Lyon's 38. Basket Landes forced 19 Lyon turnovers. American forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) fired 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Julie Barennes (183-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Basket Landes players scored in double figures. point guard Bintou Dieme (164-84) produced 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international center Christelle Diallo (192-93) added 14 points respectively for lost side. Basket Landes maintains second position with 8-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Bourges. Loser Lyon dropped to the eleventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Nantes. Basket Landes will meet league's leader Bourges on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lyon will play against Toulouse (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
