Regular Season Round 10: Denso Iris - Fujitsu RW 81-57

There was a change at the WJBL leadership position after last games. Round 10 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Fujitsu RW (7-2). They were crushed by fifth ranked Denso Iris (7-2) 81-57 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Denso Iris led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game, while Fujitsu RW only scored seven points from the stripe. The former international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Yasuko Itou (160-90) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Denso Iris players scored in double figures. At the losing side point guard Mio Shinozaki (167-91) responded with 14 points and 5 rebounds and international swingman Chinatsu Yamamoto (175-91) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Denso Iris keep a position of league leader, which they share with Fujitsu RW and JX-Eneos S. Fujitsu RW will play next round against Aishin Wings trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Denso Iris will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Toyota B SR in Aichi.
