Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Liege (5-5) defeated at home 9th ranked Houthalen (3-7) 57-49. They outrebounded Houthalen 34-21 including a 25-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international Emmanuella Mayombo (170-92, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points and 7 rebounds. The former international center Caroline Bourlioux (182-92, college: Lindenwood) contributed with 13 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Nathalie Smolders (177-92) answered with 19 points and 4 steals and the former international forward Annelies Blommaers (176-83) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Houthalen. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Newly promoted Liege maintains sixth place with 5-5 record. Houthalen at the other side keeps the ninth position with seven games lost. Liege's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Sint Kateline Waver in Sint Katelijne and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Houthalen will play at home against Kangoeroes (#5) and hope to win that game.
