There was no surprise in Thessaloniki where 9th ranked Olympiakos (2-9) was crushed by fourth ranked PAOK (8-3) 72-52 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 41-19 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. PAOK outrebounded Olympiakos 46-34 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri, agency: Gamble Sports Management) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Dimitra Telidou (170-80) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four PAOK players scored in double figures. PAOK's coach Evripidis Meletiadis used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Rafaela Soultani (171-91) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Niki Zerva (184-79) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds. PAOK have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 8-3 record. Newly promoted Olympiakos dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Athinaikos. PAOK will meet Anagenisi (#5) in the next round. Olympiakos will play against AE Ellinikou and hope to secure a win.
