No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Valencia Basket (6-4) beat at home 10th ranked Laboral Kutxa (4-6) 85-70 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Valencia Basket. Laboral Kutxa was better in third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Valencia Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Laboral Kutxa's players. Quite impressive performance for Central African swingman Romain Sato (194-81, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording 19 points. Croatian forward Kresimir Loncar (210-83, agency: Alti Sport) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Georgian forward Tornike Shengelia (206-91) replied with 13 points and 5 rebounds and French point guard Thomas Heurtel (188-89, agency: Beo Basket) added 8 points and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) in the effort for Laboral Kutxa. Laboral Kutxa's coach let to play eleven players saving starting five for next games. Valencia Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with CAI Zaragoza. Loser Laboral Kutxa dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Valencia Basket will face bottom-ranked La Bruixa d'Or (#18) in Manresa in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Laboral Kutxa will play at home against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (#17) and hope to win that game.
