Regular Season Round 19: Osorno - CDU Concepcion 69-73

Liga Nacional top team - Universidad de Concepcion (16-2) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Osorno (10-8) 73-69. It looked good early as Osorno took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Universidad de Concepcion had a 26-22 second period charge getting the lead and Osorno was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-73. It was a quality performance for American forward Dallas Green (203-88, college: Robert Morris) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech) accounted for 18 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Universidad de Concepcion players scored in double figures. Universidad de Concepcion's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Perris Blackwell (206, college: Washington) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds and guard Carlos Lauler (185-96) added 12 points respectively for Osorno in the defeat. Universidad de Concepcion have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 16-2 record. Osorno at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Colo Colo. Universidad de Concepcion will play against Las Animas (#8) in Valdivia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Osorno will play at home against AB Ancud and hopes to get back on the winning track.
