Very expected game in Reggio Emilia where 12th ranked Upea CdO (3-6) was defeated by second ranked Trenkwalder RE (7-2) 77-65 on Sunday. The game without a history. Trenkwalder RE led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Trenkwalder RE made 7 blocks. International forward Achille Polonara (203-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and international Amedeo Della Valle (192-93, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 25 points. Trenkwalder RE's coach Massimiliano Menetti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Dario Hunt (206-89, college: Nevada) with 11 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Austin Freeman (192-89, college: Georgetown) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Trenkwalder RE maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Umana VE, which they share with EA7 Armani. Newly promoted Upea CdO dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. Trenkwalder RE will face league's leader Umana Venezia on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Upea CdO will play against AV Cantu (#10) and hope to win that game.
