Very predictable result when sixth ranked Trieste (6-5) won against at home 14th ranked Casalpusterlengo (3-8) 80-75. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Casalpusterlengo was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 30-16 third quarter run of Trieste. The best player for the winners was the former international Stefano Tonut (194-93) who scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Francesco Candussi (211-94) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Trieste players scored in double figures. American Alvin Young (188-75, college: Niagara) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Trieste maintains sixth place with 6-5 record, which they share with Lighthouse TR and Agrigento. Casalpusterlengo lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Trieste's next round opponent will be Forli (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Casalpusterlengo will play against the league's leader Tezenis VE and hope to win that game.
