The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Tezenis VE (9-2) in Verona on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fifteenth ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (4-7) 83-74. Tezenis VE trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 20-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 74-83 at the end of the game. American power forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). His fellow American import guard Ian Miller (190-91, college: Florida St., agency: Two Points) contributed with 24 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Darryl Monroe (198-86, college: George Mason) answered with 26 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Andrea De Nicolao (185-91) added 9 points and 8 assists in the effort for Tezenis VE. Fileni BPA Jesi have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Forli and Givova Napoli. Tezenis VE at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. Fileni BPA Jesi is looking forward to face Givova Napoli (#12) at home in the next round.
