Regular Season Round 16: Foshan LL - Sichuan BW 118-102

Not a big story in a game when 19th ranked Sichuan BW (3-13) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Foshan (8-8) 118-102. Foshan shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Sichuan BW was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Lebanese swingman Fadi Khatib (199-79) contributed with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Foshan players scored in double figures. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (193-84, college: CS Northridge) replied with 28 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Metta World Peace (201-79, college: St.John's) added 26 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Sichuan BW. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Foshan moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Shandong FB. Sichuan BW lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the seventeenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Bayi R. and Chongqing FD. Foshan will play against Chongqing FD (#19) in Guangzhou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sichuan BW will play on the road against Shanghai Sharks and hopes to get back on the winning track.
