Hapoel Jerusalem (9-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by ninth ranked Hapoel Eilat (5-6) 87-85. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Hapoel Jerusalem. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hapoel Jerusalem won third quarter 26-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Hapoel Eilat won last quarter 23-22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-American power forward Adrian Uter (200-84, college: Hofstra) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple) chipped in 17 points and 9 assists. The former international Yotam Halperin (195-84) produced 17 points and 7 assists and American power forward Joseph Jones (205-86, college: Texas A&M) added 17 points respectively for the hosts. Five Hapoel Eilat and four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures. Hapoel Jerusalem's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Eilat have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place. Hapoel Jerusalem at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Hapoel Eilat are looking forward to face higher ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against Ironi Nahariya (#11) and is hoping to win this game.
