Very important is a road loss of second ranked Manital Torino (7-4) against tenth ranked Agrigento (6-5) on Sunday night. Visiting Manital Torino was defeated by Agrigento in a tough game in Agrigento 83-91. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Manital Torino. The hosts were already 14 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 29-23 Manital Torino's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 91-83 at the end of the game. Agrigento dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Manital Torino's 26. Agrigento forced 20 Manital Torino turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Pendarvis Williams (198-91, college: Norfolk St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import power forward Dave Dudzinski (206-92, college: Holy Cross, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) helped adding 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American Ronald Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St.) responded with 23 points and the former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Agrigento moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Trieste and Lighthouse TR. Manital Torino at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Novipiu Casale and FCM Ferentino. Agrigento will play against league's second-placed C.de Latte BRE in Brescia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Manital Torino will play at home against Sigma Barcellona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
