Regular Season Round 20: Fukuoka Rizing - Hamamatsu P. 74-76

Ninth-ranked Fukuoka Rizing (4-16) made lots of trouble for third ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (15-3) on Sunday. The visitors from Mikawa managed to secure only two-point victory 76-74. However their fans expected much easier game. Fukuoka Rizing was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Hamamatsu Phoenix forced 19 Fukuoka Rizing turnovers. The best player for the winners was American forward Mo Charlo (203-83, college: Nevada) who scored 25 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian-Canadian Olu Ashaolu (200-88, college: Oregon) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. American forward Josh Peppers (201-85, college: Cent.Florida, agency: Court Side) produced 25 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Tokunaga Rintaro (177-86) added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for the hosts. Hamamatsu Phoenix have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 15-3 record having six points less than leader Kyoto Hannar. Fukuoka Rizing lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 16 games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Yokohama BC (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
