Regular Season Round 16: Guangsha L. - Jiangsu TX 109-101

No shocking result in a game in Hangzhou where second ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (13-3) defeated bottom-ranked Jiangsu TX (2-14) 109-101. It looked good early as Jiangsu TX took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Zhejiang Guangsha Lions had a 31-15 second period charge getting the lead and Jiangsu TX was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 101-109. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu TX's 46 and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds. Taiwanese guard Zhijie Lin (192-82) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and Iranian point guard Mahdi Kamrani (181-82) added 23 points, 6 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Jiangsu TX. Four Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and five Jiangsu TX players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions maintains second position with 13-3 record having five points less than leader Liaoning H. Jiangsu TX lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#13) in Nanjing in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jiangsu TX will play at home against Beijing Ducks (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
